Camilo Ugo Carabelli – Ilia Simakin

Recent form

The Rolex Shanghai Masters is an outdoor hard-court Masters 1000, scheduled from 7 to 18 October 2026, with a 96-player draw. The match is announced for the first round, on Court 7, on 8 October at 04:00 UTC, but the schedule and draw remain to be officially confirmed.

Carabelli won against Federico Cina on 24 September and Rinky Hijikata on 28 September. Simakin won his qualifying matches against Luka Pavlovic on 5 October and Te Rigele on 6 October, after two Challenger titles in Phan Thiết between 11 and 20 September.

Carabelli is around 77th place and has more ATP experience; Simakin is around 154th place and is playing his first announced main draw at this level. The available history suggests that Carabelli performs better on clay and has limited main-draw experience on hard courts, while Simakin has favorable recent momentum on hard courts at lower levels.

The match is played best of three sets.

Head-to-head

No recent direct matchup between Carabelli and Simakin is documented in the selected materials. This absence limits the ability to compare their actual head-to-head matchup, particularly Simakin’s serve against Carabelli’s return and defense.
